~ Reiki is a Japanese word meaning ‘Universal Life Force Energy’
This energy or vibration abounds in the Universe. Reiki, in common with many other eastern-based philosophies of medicine, considers the human body and all physical things as an energy form.
Practitioners of Reiki learn to tune into this Universal Energy and to channel it to the recipient. This energy is an intelligent energy and flows wherever it is needed. The practitioner does not direct the energy but merely acts as a facilitator for the process.
In order to become a practitioner, one is opened up to the energy, or ‘attuned’ to it by a Reiki Master. Once attuned, you become a channel for the energy to flow. Exactly how clear depends on how much you work with the energy. The longer and more diligently you work with Reiki, the clearer and more powerful your channel becomes.
The method of receiving a Reiki treatment from a practitioner is a very simple process. The recipient either lies on a couch or sits comfortably in a chair – the main thing is for the recipient to be as comfortable as possible. There is no need to remove any clothing. The practitioner gently places their hands non-intrusively in a sequence of positions which cover the whole body. The whole person is treated rather than specific symptoms.
Reiki harmonises and enhances all other forms of healing, treatments, conventional medicine and natural remedies.
